Flo Frequently Asked Questions.
Still Need Help?
What is flow cytometry?
Flow cytometry measures each individual bacteria as opposed to colonies of bacteria, allowing for faster results and no incubation time. The technician applies dyes to the sample so a laser can quickly identify and count each type of bacteria present in the water sample. Flow cytometry is revolutionary in dental for two reasons:
There is no incubation time for the sample and can provide same-day results
The test analyzes every bacteria cell, so the results are incredibly precise
We recommend having a Flo test on-hand for quick remediation and efficiency to get your operatory back up and running.
Do repeat testsers need to fill out the full submission form?
Yes! Each mail-in testing form must be completely filled out, regardless of if you’ve tested with ProEdge before. This ensures that your office information is current in our system and verifies that each vial is correctly labeled with the corresponding operatory, guaranteeing the accuracy of your results.
Why are my vials already numbered?
Mail-in test kits come with pre-numbered vials correlated to the spaces on the submission form, and not with your operatory. On the submission form, make sure to use the space next to the correlating vial number to indicate the operatory you took the samples from.
Should I test my source water?
Usually, it’s only recommended to test your source water if you have experienced repeat failures that you cannot seem to successfully remediate. Otherwise, it may be nice to know the state of your source water through testing, but it’s not necessary, especially if you’re passing tests regularly.
How do I access my test results?
You will receive an email when your test results are ready to view! Your mail-in test results will always be available on your ProEdge Clear™ account. Simply login and click on Past Test Cycles under Practice Reports.
